Elbert Nehemiah, 76, farm worker of this city died early Tuesday morning at the St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Danville, Ill where he had been a patient for one week. Born Nov 2, 1870 near Veedersburg, he was the son of Joseph and Susan McCollum Nehemiah. He was twice married, first to Leora Edwards and later to Myrtle Rice. Both preceded him in death. Surviving are a son, Joseph of Crown Point; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Riffle of Veedersburg; Mrs. Mary Gordon of Cayuga and Mrs. Nina Redenbaugh of Kingman and two brothers, Jasper and Wilbur both of Veedersburg. Funeral services were held at the J. Fred Parham funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 2:39 o’clock. The body was taken to Indiana for cremation.
